So after learning more about this building, I really should have named it "Searles School and Chapel" as is properly named in our town of Windham, NH. Turns out this building was the schoolhouse for the town up until the early 1970s! Many residents remember attending school here and talk about the false lowered ceilings - presumably to keep the heat costs down? This building has a wonderful history which you can find here: Searles School and Chapel History . Due to some dedicated residents, the building has been undergoing methodical renovations over many years. It is a true jewel in this town and is used for hosting many various events. We were fortunate to be able to contribute for the restoration of one of the windows. And did so as a dedication to my side of the family - the Crvarichs and the Calises :-)
